        PM E-DRIVE scheme ന്റെ ഭാഗമായി NH-66 ൽ ഒരു Electric Truck Corridor വികസിപ്പിക്കാൻ തയ്യാറെടുക്കുകയാണ് കേരളം. Freight (ചരക്ക് ) Electrification പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുക, carbon emissions കുറയ്ക്കുക, കൂടാതെ clean logistics transition-ൽ national leader ആയി സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ സ്ഥാനപ്പെടുത്തുക എന്നതാണ് ഈ പദ്ധതിയുടെ ലക്ഷ്യം.  


സംസ്ഥാനത്തു ഇതിനകം മൂന്ന് ലക്ഷത്തിലധികം ഇലക്ട്രിക്ക് വാഹനങ്ങൾ (EV) ഉണ്ടെങ്കിലും, അതിൽ ഭൂരിഭാഗവും യാത്ര വാഹനങ്ങളാണ് ആണ്. ഇലക്ട്രിക്ക് ചരക്ക് ഗതാഗതത്തിൽ ഒരു വലിയ വിടവ് ഉണ്ടെന്ന് വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നു. ഇലക്ട്രിക്ക് ട്രക്കുകൾക്കായി ഹൈ സ്പീഡ്, ഹൈ കപ്പാസിറ്റി ചാർജിങ് സൗകര്യങ്ങളും, PANTOGRAPH ചാർജിങ് പോലുള്ള സൗകര്യങ്ങൾ സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നതിലേക്കാണ് കേരളം ഫോക്കസ് ചെയ്യുന്നത്. Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB), International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT)-യുമായി ചേർന്നാണ് ഈ പദ്ധതിയുടെ ആസൂത്രണം. PM E-DRIVE സ്‌ക്കിമിൽ വിവിധ vehicle segments-ലായി, പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് commercial & freight vehicles ഉൾപ്പെടെ, electric mobility പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുക എന്നതാണ് ലക്ഷ്യം.


India’s First Electric Freight Corridor Coming to Kerala

Under the PM E-DRIVE scheme, Kerala is preparing to develop an Electric Truck Corridor along NH-66.
The aim of this project is to promote electric freight transport, reduce carbon emissions, and position Kerala as a national leader in clean logistics transition.

Although the State already has over three lakh electric vehicles, most of them are passenger vehicles. This clearly shows a major gap in electric freight transportation.

Kerala is now focusing on creating high-speed, high-capacity charging infrastructure for electric trucks, including advanced solutions such as pantograph charging systems.

The project is being planned by the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) in partnership with the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT).

The PM E-DRIVE scheme aims to encourage electric mobility across different vehicle segments, with special focus on commercial and freight vehicles.
