🚀 Kerala Accelerates the EV Movement in India
Kerala is rapidly emerging as a frontrunner in India's electric vehicle (EV) landscape, driven by robust sales, expansive infrastructure, and pioneering pilot projects. Here's an in-depth look at how the state is steering the nation's transition to sustainable mobility.
🚗 Surging EV Sales
Kerala, accounting for just 4.4% of India's total four-wheeler sales, remarkably contributed 13.2% to the country's EV four-wheeler sales in 2023. This significant share underscores the state's enthusiastic adoption of electric mobility. The Economic Times

⚡ Expanding Charging Infrastructure
Kerala is making strides in establishing a comprehensive EV charging network. The state plans to set up solar-powered public EV charging stations every 50 kilometers along major roads, including National Highways, State Highways, and Main Central Roads. anert.gov.in
Kerala already achieved a fast charger landmark along the national highway. We will get a fast charger in every 50km or at least in 75km.
This initiative ensures that EV users have convenient access to charging facilities, addressing range anxiety and promoting the adoption of electric vehicles across the state.
🔋 Pioneering Inductive Charging
In a groundbreaking move, Kerala is set to conduct the country's first trial of dynamic wireless charging for electric vehicles. The trial, planned in Thiruvananthapuram, involves a system that charges EVs while they are in motion, eliminating the need for plug-in charging. ANERT has partnered with Electreon, a company experienced in implementing similar projects in Norway, to bring this innovative technology to Kerala. Kerala Kaumudi
